Our History
King Spraying & Planting has been serving Hawke’s Bay landowners since 2017, evolving from a shearing operation into a trusted provider of targeted spraying and native planting services.
Our roots are in agriculture—founded by the King whānau, whose generations of experience in shearing and wool handling instilled a strong work ethic and hands-on approach. Today, we channel that expertise into year-round land care solutions, ensuring our team stays employed across seasons while delivering reliable results for clients.
Our Team
King Spraying is a team of 10 including 2 directors, sprayers, planters and general labourers. Each sprayer and planter holds all certifications mentioned above.

Over 8 years in the industry.
Extensive experience managing spray teams, liaising with clients, and overseeing planting operations.
Expertise in creating and executing spraying plans, ensuring quality and efficiency on every project.

14 years of business ownership and management experience in the Hawke's Bay region.
Owned and operated King Shearing, King Spraying, and King Planting alongside husband Richard and brother Jonathan.
Previous roles in property ownership and management (Miss Properties and Ricarah Trust), as well as supervisory and managerial positions in retail and horticulture.

Prior experience as a business owner of a shearing run in Australia for 10 years, as well as 5 years in the shearing industry, where Jonathan successfully managed teams and logistics.
